Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Olds (DP2-3)
This programme is a child’s first experience in a learning environment outside of the home. The goal is to make a positive first impression that will influence your child’s ability to enjoy learning now and in the future.
The programme focuses on a play-based approach to development in group settings, enhancing social, emotional, communication, language, physical, and intellectual growth.
To participate, parents must agree to:
- Attend an information session.
- Attend regular ‘stay and play’ sessions with your child.
- Allow regular home visits from a trained staff member.
- Ensure your child attends at least 80% of the sessions.
The programme operates throughout the school year for 7.5 hours per week. There are currently 60 places available: 24 in Newtownbutler, 24 in Irvinestown, and 12 in Enniskillen. You can get a copy of the criteria from the DENI website.
Transition Programme
This programme works with parents and local pre-schools to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition for your child. We can also help you with your application form and share a transition report with the pre-school.

Speech and Language Support
A Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) visits each group to provide advice and workshops for families. They will conduct a short language screening using the WellComm toolkit at the start and end of the year to support language planning. Parental consent is required for any screening.
You can also arrange a one-on-one meeting with the SLT if you have individual queries about your child’s communication.
Cherish Volunteering Opportunities
Community development provides parents with the opportunity to get involved with the ARC Healthy Living Centre. You can attend parent forums or volunteer to help at sessions.
