New Service: ARC’s Bright Sparks – Homework & Activity Club
The overall aim of the Homework and Activity Club Project is to raise educational aspirations of the young people from Sallyswood & Castle Street, the areas immediately surrounding the ARC.
The Homework/Activity Club aims to:
- Give children a sense of self-value/self-worth.
- Enable the children to experience success through activity.
- Assist the children to develop relationships with others through mutual trust and support.
- Develop responsibility for self and others through organised activities.
In addition to providing a space for the children to complete their homework the project offers the children access to materials and IT resources including mathletics.
The Homework/Activities Club provides a relaxed atmosphere where the children are able to complete their homework and ask questions that they may not feel comfortable doing at school. It is a welcoming and fun environment but we do have strict policies which the children must sign up to.
The service is free for Primary School Children and will operate 2 days per week Tuesday and Wednesday and will run from 3.15 to 4.45pm
The Homework/Activities Club is run by experienced, trained and fully vetted childcare staff.
