#LOSTPARENTS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES TO RAISE AWARENESS OF CHILD CONTACT CENTRES

A major national drive launches today to raise awareness of child contact centres, which provide a safe place for parents to meet their children after divorce or separation.

The campaign, #lostparents from NACCC was created with agency Third City and launched last night at a House of Lords reception, with speakers including Sir James Munby QC and Dr Phillip Lee MP, Minister for Victims, Youth and Family Justice.

A new film from Curveball has been created to launch the campaign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ztlSzCbZvo&feature=youtu.be

The UK has one of the highest rates of family breakdown in the western world with just two thirds of children living with both parents1. Of these, more than a million have no contact whatsoever with one or other parent2.

Family breakdown has a huge effect on society and business and is estimated to cost the country £49 billion a year3. The NACCC is the only charity in the UK dedicated to solving this problem, by providing safe spaces where children can meet the parents they don’t live with.

The charity oversees more than 400 contact centres across the UK, run by a network of more than 6000 volunteers. This includes our own contact centre – ACCESS based here at the ARC Healthy Living Centre . ACCESS runs Wednesday evenings & Saturday mornings. For more information on how to refer or attend our contact centre, contact Kate on 028 686 28741 or 07849366092

A series of campaign ‘moments’ are planned over the coming year, with more details at www.naccc.org.uk/lostparents
